Parker is home to more than one thousand people who enjoy the safety and convenience of living in a smaller area. Located 25 minutes from Sioux Falls, Parker offers an atmosphere of community. Parker is known for neighbors helping one another and school spirit that many of us remember as children, plus the conveniences of a vibrant Main Street which offers groceries, a pharmacy, restaurants and more.

Recreation / Community Events

Parker has an excellent school district with an average class size of 15 students. The district is accredited by the North Central Association. The City of Parker offers a lot of activities for the young and young at heart. Organized baseball, softball, football, and soccer programs are offered. Call the city office at 297-4453 for details.

A Three on Three Basketball tournament is held annually in Parker as well as the Turner County Fair. Turner County citizens have long been proud of their county fair and with just cause. It is one of the finest county fairs in the state of South Dakota and has the distinction of being the oldest county fair in the state.?

A Hometown Christmas event is held in December, and prizes are given for the following: Best Over All Entry, Best use of Theme and Best use of lights. A certificate will be given to recognize the following as well: Best Youth Entry, Best Religious Entry, Best use of Music and Best use of School Spirit.
