Howard offers a great place to camp!

Howard is located in eastern South Dakota. With a population of around 1,000 people – it is a place where neighbors know and trust one another, where anyone can have a real voice in the community, and where children receive individual attention in the classroom.

Recreation / Community Activities

The City of Howard operates a Golf Course on the east edge of town from mid-April until roughly mid-October. It is a fun 9-hole course that has a creek running through it with mature trees. No tee times are required and the club house is open with a great selection of food & beverages available.

During the busy summer months one hot attraction in the town is the 5,300 square foot swimming pool. It boasts a water-spraying mushroom, two diving boards and a pool bathhouse complete with changing rooms and showers. There is also a wading area for the younger kids.

Should you choose to stay in Howard they have a great camp area that has a new restroom facility, complete with showers, that was completed in 2006. Along with numerous tent camping spots they have six cement camping pads with electric and sewer hookups.
