Prairie Homestead is an original sod dugout home and farmstead built in 1909 near the northeast entrance to Badlands National Park. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a visit lets you follow in the footsteps of pioneers, see farm animals and rare white prairie dogs, and dress in period clothing as you tour this history lesson about rural heritage.
