Recreation / Community Activities

Rich in history, you can visit our museum or our historic blacksmith shop, or take a stroll through our downtown area and neighborhoods to view some of the old buildings that helped shape our community.

There’s also a terrific golf course to take advantage of, as the Gettysburg Country Club is considered one of the best in the state–with nine holes and grass greens, not to mention a comfortable clubhouse where you can relax.

If you’re bringing children along for a visit, the Dakota Sunset Museum is a great place to see some an exciting animal display as well as learn about the mysterious Medicine Rock. There’s also a terrific park right next to the city swimming pool to relax and play the day away.
