The busy city of Colman is located just 2.5 miles west of Interstate 29 at Exit 109 and centrally located between the cities of Madison, Brookings, Sioux Falls and Pipestone, Minnesota. An acquisition of 144 acres on the southeast corner of town will be residential property and commercial lots are available on SD Highway 34. The city’s current population is about 600 people.

Recreation / Community Activities

Looney Days is an Annual Celebration held the second weekend of August and is sponsored by local Jaycees.

The City of Colman operates a 9-hole Golf Course on the south edge of Colman from April 15 to October 15. Information on green fees and seasonal schedules may be obtained at the Clubhouse. Camping facilities are also available in the city park. Hunting and fishing opportunities are also plentiful with the area Lake Brandt being a popular attraction.
