During the summer and autumn months, gardening is a primary focus for Swift Family Enterprises near Burke. Continuing the annual tradition of growing pumpkins, the oldest children planted their first batches of seed with Grandpa’s expertise to guide them. What had begun as Grandpa and Grandma’s retirement hobby soon blossomed into a small business venture as the younger ones expanded the patch to include different varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds. The produce – along with straw bales, baskets, and occasionally pumpkin bread – is available for sale at a roadside stand next to the farm from the beginning of September through the end of October each year. We generally welcome any individual, family, or group who wishes to pick their own produce from the vine. Please schedule an appointment first by calling, emailing, or messaging us.
