In 1914, this 24,000-square-foot building was built by the Homestake Gold Mine for their workers and families. It was given to the City of Lead in 1972. Unfortunately, the theater was nearly destroyed by fire in 1984. Restoration work continues alongside performing arts events. Concerts, movies, theatre, dance and weddings are hosted year-round. Tours are available Tuesday-Saturday (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and run 30-45 minutes. Call or join us at the front courtyard theater entrance at tour time.
